Ep 33: Habits, Workspace Design, Culture & Leadership for Sustainable Peak Performance with Lindsay Hedenskog

Episode show notes:

Energy management is something that I often talk about, and the reason for that is because your energy is the most precious resource you have.

Today, I’m joined by Lindsay Hedenskog.

Lindsay has spent her nearly 20-year-long career building companies, leading teams, and consulting for the biggest companies in the Nordics. And for the last 10 years, she’s been obsessed with mastering and developing systems to better manage her energy.

But working in offices all day, it felt impossible to use the tools because of the unsustainable ways of working and the hustle culture.

It was a race to burnout.

So in 2020 she quit her leadership role at one of Europe’s leading fintechs – and opened LAMB.

For three years, it was an award-winning coworking space in Stockholm – purpose-built to provide all of the science-backed conditions people need to thrive at work.

Now, she’s taking the design framework they developed and tested with 750+ people – and helping companies transform their workspaces so people have what they need to do their best work, perform at a higher level, and be happy at work.

As you can imagine, there’s a lot of common ground here.

Lindsay is a powerhouse with a passion that is contagious.

In this episode we talk about Lindsay’s journey, as a leader, mother, entrepreneur. We discuss effective tools to manage your energy so that you have something left at the end of the day for the things that matter.

We also touch upon the feeling of not-enoughness as a parent, the time when Lindsay almost burned out, tips and tricks around productivity and office design that will support employee wellbeing and sustainable peak performance.

In addition to this, we talk about how our bodies and brains aren’t made for the way we work, that we need a new definition of what it means to be productive, and a lot more.
